Joe Sestak - Leadership for a Better America

Joe Sestak has a long and distinguished history of taking on leadership roles and spurring initiatives for change.  Leadership for a Better America (LFBA) is an organization Sestak established to continue the political conversation he began during his time as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.  The two main objectives of the LFBA site are: first, to inform curious visitors of his political ideas and activism; second, to keep supporters in the loop while soliciting feedback. Though early in the process, Sestak has officially announced his intentions to run for the US Senate in 2016 and this website represents one of the initial steps in that process to start a dialogue with voters around Pennsylvania.  NMC designed a political campaign website that is highly engaging, easy-to-navigate, and visually captivating.

The homepage greets visitors with a feature photo of Sestak and associated copy that highlights LFBA’s main goals. For a campaign focused on learning about what people care about, this initial "greeting" acts as an informal introduction.  Below the featured photo are three Action Center options for visitors: ‘Stay Connected’, ‘Spread the Word’, and ‘Contribute’.  Each option links to an auto-fill form that allows visitors to register to receive more information based on issues they care about, post to social media about LFBA, or make a donation directly to the organization.  The data collected through the site is all integrated into the campaign's Salsa volunteer database.

The site aims to be extremely accessible and engaging throughout.  A sidebar including the three Action options along with a live feed from Sestak’s Twitter, a button to ‘Like’ his Facebook page, and descriptions of values that Sestak believes define ‘American Exceptionalism’ are present throughout the site's interior pages.  Visitors are able to both inform themselves and interact without having to navigate a confusing array of pages or leave the site.  The site also features a blog so supporters and curious visitors alike may check the most recent developments and news of the LFBA and Sestak.

Designing this site was exciting and NMC is looking forward to its future development with Sestak and LFBA.
