Lean Implementation Science
There are over 45 miles of nerves in the human body. A skull is made up of 29 different bones. It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. Without a doubt, the human body is complicated. Managing and organizing healthcare can be even more complicated though. Enter Lean Implementation Science (LIS), a group dedicated to establishing quality improvement support structure for healthcare systems.
LIS is managed by a group of North Carolina State University researchers with a core team from the engineering, business, and textile departments. LIS is part of the NCSU’s Industrial Extension Services, whose website NMC also designed and developed.
The NMC team designed and coded the new website to address particular problems that were concerning LIS researchers. Creating a device to improve inbound marketing, the new website features a blog for publishing fresh, original thoughts on implementing the lean process. Downloadable PDF publications also keep website visitors informed of the latest and greatest lean news. In order to inform visitors of their excellent work portfolio, NMC built a section of the site to highlight past and current LIS projects. The project pages are designed to present information in a straightforward, easy-to-navigate manor that emphasize business beneficiaries from past projects. NMC’s HiFi content management system provides for easy and efficient management of the website, allowing LIS to quickly add a blog post or update a project’s status without difficulty; a helpful tool because healthcare is complicated enough already.
