Creating a website and identity for a developing non-profit
In the U.S. today, 90 percent of the fastest-growing jobs require postsecondary education, yet the number of young adults enrolled in higher education in the U.S. lags behind other nations. Looking to do what Teach for America did for teaching, the National College Advising Corps is training college advisers and sending them out into underserved schools. In order to successfully leverage their non-profit, NCAC knew that a comprehensive website was imperative to their mission.
New Media Campaigns stepped in to not only develop the website for the organization, but we also aided in their branding and identity, suggesting the use of the olive branch in their logo to serve as a representation of wisdom. The website contains a wide array of information concerning the non-profit's goals and partner institutions and how to become involved in the corps. New Media custom built a 'Resource Exchange', one of the tools under the password protected area of the site, that advisers can use as an intranet to upload helpful documents that other advisers can use. The Exchange gives advisers the ability to classify and tag documents, leave comments, rate usefulness, and more.
The organization has been featured in The Washington Post, Dan Rather Reports, and other publications. The NCAC is really making strides in the way of secondary education and New Media was happy to help get them started and on their way.
