Ohio politician embraces new tools in political website design to reach consituents
Energy and integrity. These were two key ideals Josh Mandel insisted upon when he partnered with New Media to design his campaign website for re-election. Mandel, representative of Ohio House District 17, joined up with NMC to enhance his online presence and reach voters. We developed a unique and fresh website for Mandel that would allow voters to learn more about his goals, explore opportunities to volunteer, and remain updated on campaign news.
One thing distinct to Mandel's website is the registration landing page that greets each visitor before allowing access to the main site. What was once a rarity on campaign websites is now a popular strategy amongst candidates, and something we suggest to almost all of our political clients. Voters have become accustomed to the landing page and are now less likely to leave the website because they cannot navigate it. The upfront registration allows for the decent chance of getting a casual supporter to fill in their information in order to receive updates about the candidate. Landing pages serve as a valuable collection tool that give the candidates who have them a leg up on their opponents.
Beyond the registration page, voters are presented with a multitude of options that allow them to learn more about Representative Mandel. The design of the site allows for a lot of information to be presented without the possibility of voters feeling confused or overwhelmed. Furthermore, the ability for his campaign team to post multimedia throughout the site keeps visitors engaged and interested. The overall design offers straightforward delivery while remaining bright and original. Mandel's dedication to service and hard work reflected our mission to deliver the benefits of new technology to our clients and increased our enthusiasm for this project.
