Friends of Wake County

Friends of Wake County brings their initiative to the forefront of discussion with a new and engaging website

Friends of Wake County is a group of community volunteers who are dedicated to excellent public education in the county. In order to ensure the success of their mission, it was crucial for a $1 billion school levy to pass in the upcoming election. The group approached New Media Campaigns to develop a campaign website that would raise awareness of the levy and their goals.

Upon reaching the website voters are greeted with recent news, information concerning the bond plan, quick facts about Wake County Education, and an "Action Center" that allows visitors to sign up for newsletters, volunteer, register to vote, or request a speaker. The website also includes a photo gallery of past rallies.

New Media also custom programmed a JavaScript feature to show how different stakeholders would be affected by the campaign. The feature not only informs but also engages constituents. The online campaign played a vital role in the overall initiative, and in the end, Friends of Wake County were able to win a very close election and continue to provide a bright outlook for the future of Wake County education.
